SoGal, a network of diverse entrepreneurs and investors, is expanding its reach into the metroplex, kicking off with a discussion among female funders.
The organization is hosting a panel at 5:30 p.m. on February 6 at the Dallas location of Capital Factory. Panelists include Elizabeth Galbut, Founding Partner at SoGal Ventures, Inobat Igamberdieva, Principal at Interlock Partners, Samantha Colletti, Senior Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank and will be moderated by Monica Kozy, Head of BD at Delta-v Capital.
“Lack of networks is a core reason for the gender gap in entrepreneurship and venture funding today,” Kozy said in an email. “By building the SoGal ecosystem locally and connecting our members to the global network, I’m hopeful we can help bridge the gap for our community.”
SoGal strives to create a support system for young entrepreneurs and founders by holding event worldwide. SoGal also runs a female-led venture capital arm to help provide funds for startups. SoGal Ventures has invested in more than 50 companies, including personalized hair care line Function of Beauty and Austin’s EverlyWell.
The panelists will talk about the gender disparity in venture capital, alternative financing sources and their experiences in the funding sphere.
